Proteomics

Grup de proteòmica a Vall d'Hebron

The Proteomics group not only provides and develops avant-garde technologies for all Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology research programmes and groups, it also develops key research through independent study programmes. Among its current projects are: proteomic selection of new biomarkers to help develop drugs against cancer, and the contribution to proteome mapping of chromosome 16 as part of the Human Proteome Project.

Description

Among the group’s current objectives is the analysis of the role of ADAM and ADAMTS metalloproteinases in tumour progression, and the detection of new cell surface markers in glioblastoma-initiating cells. The implementation of new methodologies for quantitative proteomic analyses, such as iTRAQ and strategies without markers, while continuing to provide services in the most recent proteomic methodologies to other research groups.
