Education and Professional Experience
I hold a medical degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2003), and completed my Pediatric residency training (MIR) at Hospital Vall d’Hebron (2004–2008). In 2009, I obtained a Master's degree in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition from the same institution in collaboration with the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Since then, I have developed my career as a pediatrician at Hospital Vall d’Hebron, with a clinical and research focus on hepatology and liver transplantation.
I currently serve as Head of the Pediatric Hepatology and Liver Transplantation Section.

I was a member of the Executive Board of the Spanish Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (SEGHNP) from 2017 to 2021, and I have been a member of the Hepatology Committee Board of ESPGHAN since 2023.

Teaching and Research
I am also actively involved in teaching, having served as a speaker and organizer in numerous national and international courses and scientific meetings on pediatric liver diseases, portal hypertension, liver transplantation, and rare hepatic disorders. This academic work reflects my strong commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering continuous education in pediatric hepatology.

As a member of the Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation Research Group within the Pediatric Research HUB at our institution, I currently lead 42 investigator-initiated research projects and 13 clinical trials. My research is structured around the following lines:

Long-term follow-up and outcomes in pediatric liver transplantation (GIG project, HEPATIC registry, PORTAL registry, post-transplant histological assessment, and microRNA studies)

Portal hypertension and vascular complications

MASLD

Cholestatic liver diseases (PFIC, biliary atresia, Alagille syndrome)

Rare liver diseases (LALD, autoimmune hepatitis, among others)
