This November marked the conclusion of the Fall 2025 edition of the Rising Innovators program, a training initiative in innovation and entrepreneurship promoted by the Innovation and Business Development Department of the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR).

This edition, focused on medical technology (MedTech) projects, brought together 10 VHIR professionals involved in the development of medical devices, digital solutions, and in vitro diagnostics. The program ran over seven weeks of training, combining theoretical sessions, hands-on work on participants’ own projects, and meetings with external professionals to learn about innovation experiences in other fields. In this edition, we had the pleasure of welcoming Olga Sánchez-Maroto (ARO), Joan Mercadal (Partner at Nara Health), and Menno Marien (CEO of Bsure Medical), who shared their experience in key areas of the health innovation ecosystem.

The content focused on key aspects such as intellectual property protection, regulatory frameworks, business models, and technology transfer strategies, offering a practical perspective tailored to the needs of research groups.

The Rising Innovators program aims to foster an innovation culture within VHIR, improve the management of projects with transfer potential, and promote leading innovation profiles within research groups.

Following this MedTech-focused edition, the Innovation team is already preparing the next edition, scheduled for 2026.

We invite anyone interested in receiving more information or participating in the program to contact innovacio@vhir.org.
