Dra. Dimelza Osorio Sánchez

I trained as a specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public Health after working as a Primary Care physician for several years. My main areas of interest include healthcare accreditation and hospital management, knowledge translation, evidence-based medicine, and the improvement of healthcare services.

Throughout my professional career, I have undertaken a wide range of activities, initially in the field of research and subsequently in knowledge translation. These have included data collection, project management, study design, and the dissemination of research findings. I have also been involved in the development of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, protocols and systematic reviews, as well as in health technology assessment.

In addition to my medical specialty training, I hold a PhD in Research Methodology and Public Health. I have also completed postgraduate studies in Public Health, Health Technology Assessment, Healthcare Quality, and Patient Safety.

Since joining the Hospital in 2015, I have had the opportunity to lead projects directly related to knowledge translation within the hospital setting, with the aim of ensuring high-quality patient care. More recently, my role has enabled me to gain extensive experience in healthcare quality accreditation and certification systems, as well as in the various recognition programmes for specialised care within the hospital sector.
