Seminari de Recerca "Custom Biosensor and Equipment Design for Point of Care In-vitro Diagnostics"

Dr. Yalin Kilic- Biomedical Engineering. Izmir Ekonomi University, Turkey

In an era which information moves at speed of light, all non-instantaneous technologies look out dated. Healthcare technologies are usually among the lagging ones, when it comes to transformation and adaptation into new demands. Still, biosensors and point-of-care diagnostics devices are positioned to change the delivery of healthcare, where these technologies can be used in cheap, disposable point-of-care devices, or they can be used to provide continuous monitoring in implantable devices. One way or the other, measurement in biomedical applications presents unique challenges in whole stages of design and implementation, as well as interpretation of the results.
Leading a team of engineers and scientists, i want to present short real life experiences where we deliver ODM and OEM biomedical devices ultilizing biosensors, microfluidics and robotics, targeting a repeatable high performance at a low cost.

Host: Dr. Eva Colas, Biomedical Research in Gynaecology (VHIR)
