María Pilar Vinardell Martinez-Hidalgo Catedràtica de Fisiologia a la Facultat de Farmàcia i Ciències de l’Alimentació. La seva recerca es centra al desenvolupament de mètodes in vitro alternatius a l’ús d’animals d’experimentació en estudis d’irritació dèrmica, ocular, sensibilització dérmica, fototoxicitat i estudis de nanotoxicologia. Amb més de 200 publicacions científiques en revistes d’alt impacte i més de 250 comunicacions i conferències a congressos nacionals i internacionals. Ha estat membre del Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) de la Comissió Europea, comitè que avalua la seguretat del productes cosmètics i els seus ingredients. Es membre del grup d’experts de la OECD sobre sensibilització dèrmica i del grup d’irritació ocular i dèrmica. Membre del Comitè d’Experimentació Animal de la Generalitat de Catalunya. Ha dirigit i impartint cursos sobre mètodes alternatius a la experimentació animal a la Universitat de Barcelona i a diferents universitats de Brasil, Mèxic, i Argentina entre d’altres.
