Resum: La traqueostomia percutània (TQP) és un procediment freqüent a la Unitat de Crítics (UCI) dels hospitals i el seu ús és preferent en pacients amb insuficiència respiratòria que necessiten ventilació mecànica. Les complicacions precoces són escasses, encara que a la literatura es descriuen àmpliament les complicacions de la tècnica a curt termini, la seva prevenció i tractament, hi ha poques publicacions prospectives sobre les possibles seqüeles en les funcions de fonació, deglució o respiració a llarg termini per la dificultat del seguiment. El cribratge precoç d"aquests problemes podria millorar la qualitat assistencial d"aquest grup de pacients mitjançant la creació d"un pla estratègic futur d"intervenció de millora.
