Research donations
A non-profit association dedicating its efforts towards offering support to people with amputation, agenesis and other physical disabilities, to achieve full inclusion and defend their rights. All its actions are focused on promoting a new culture of abilities that aims to create a society that is more inclusive and respectful when it comes to people’s dignity and differences.
The Vall d'Hebron University Hospital collaborates with this non-profit entity, created on 1 October 2010 by a lymphoma expat. Its mission is to improve the quality of life of patients and relatives of hematological cancer, offering free support services and psychological and emotional support: Psychological care, Mutual Assistance Groups, Accompaniment Groups in the Dol, Therapeutic Workshops and Volunteering.
Founded in 2005, the group is made up of transplanted patients and their closest relatives. It is the result of a feeling of gratitude from this type of patient, who is struggling with illness day to day, and it is also a good way to disseminate it to society as a whole. The association offers moral and human support in order to face a lung transplant, with the health, socio-economic and emotional implications it entails.
Unites former players from all FC Barcelona football categories with hospitalised children. It is a non-profit organisation created in 1959 with the mission of guaranteeing quality of life and keeping up morale among former FC Barcelona footballers, allowing them to take part in activities organised by the association. The Association organises social, training and sporting activities, both for its members and to promote Barça’s values and history. The Barça Players’ Association and Vall d’Hebron University Hospital have signed a collaboration agreement so that former players commentate on FC Barcelona matches for children admitted to the Maternity and Children's Hospital.
The Association of Family and Friends of Children with Cancer in Catalonia (AFANOC) seeks solutions to all the added difficulties that surround childhood cancer. AFANOC works with Social Work professionals and the coordination of hospital volunteering. In 2010 the association created the Casa dels Xuklis, a block of 25 separate apartments that house the families of children with cancer who have to travel from their homes to receive treatment in a main reference hospitals for paediatric oncology, such as the Vall d’Hebron Maternity and Children's Hospital.
The Spanish Playmobil Collectors Assocation (AESCLICK) arose from the concern of a group of fans and lovers of Playmobil figures (known as ‘click-clack’ in Spain) in their quest to disseminate this toy and their way of enjoying entertainment. Their mission is to instil their passion in hospitalised children, with the goal of making their time in hospital more enjoyable. AESCLICK transforms the dioramas in the display cabinet in the Maternity and Children's Hospital vestibule with the famous Playmobil figures.
ACADIP is the Catalan Association for Primary Immunodeficiencies. Founded on 28th June 2008 and entered in the Register of Associations of the Department of Justice of the Generalitat de Catalunya. ACADIP’s scope is mainly the territory of Catalonia. The association currently works very closely with the Infectious Pathology and Paediatric Immunodeficiency Unit at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital.
The Abracadabra Foundation of charity magicians brings, year after year, magic and solidarity to those who need it most: hospitalised children, older people, people with a mental or physical disability, young people at risk of social exclusion and people in any other group in a difficult emotional state that need to feel they still have the ability to be delighted.
It responds to the social needs of people with congenital heart disease, their relatives and professionals in the network with whom we interact. It raises awareness of this pathology in society and promotes non-clinical research in institutions. Always guaranteeing financial sustainability through its own resources and/or third party resources with whom they have alliances for the development of activities with added value.
This app is aimed at both professionals and patients. It allows the user to register and send their data automatically to the 061 emergency number in case of emergency. It also provides health tips, states the location of the nearest healthcare centres and allows the user to receive health-related notifications. The app is public and free.
