Dra. Anna Sabaté Rotés

I completed my degree in Medicine and Surgery at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). I specialized in Pediatrics through the MIR program at Vall d'Hebron Hospital in Barcelona. At the same time, I completed the diploma in Methodology of Research: Design and Statistics in Health Sciences at UAB. My pediatric cardiology training at Vall d'Hebron Hospital was complemented with stays at the Children’s Hospital in Boston and La Paz Hospital in Madrid. In 2012, I received the La Caixa Foundation Fellowship to undertake a fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, USA (2012-14). During this period, I completed the postdoctoral program Clinical and Translational Science at Mayo Graduate School, culminating in my Doctoral Thesis.

In 2014, I rejoined Vall d'Hebron Hospital as a specialist in the Pediatric Cardiology Department. In addition to providing care to pediatric patients with congenital and acquired heart diseases, I have specialized in the care of children with aortic diseases. We are part of the European network VASC-ERN, where I participate in the working group on hereditary diseases of the thoracic aorta (HTAD). Another specific area of my clinical work is pediatric pulmonary hypertension, and I am part of the Spanish network REHIPED. Additionally, I contribute to the performance and interpretation of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography in childhood (EACVI certified).

In the scientific field, I coordinate the Spanish Registry of Bicuspid Aortic Valve in Pediatrics (REVAB). I am a member of scientific societies at both the national and European levels, participating in working groups and serving as the national delegate for the European AEPC association. Furthermore, I contribute as a researcher in scientific studies with both public and private funding. I am author of publications in national and international impact journals, and I review articles for indexed scientific journals. My teaching activities include the Master’s degree in Congenital Heart Disease Cardiology (UAB) and I supervise and tutor doctoral theses in the field of pediatric cardiology (UAB).
