OFTALMOSIM: Training in Ophthalmology

OFTALMOSIM is a practical surgical simulation program in Ophthalmology that prepares residents in cataract surgery and vitrectomy to improve their skills and safety before dealing with patients.

The OFTALMOSIM program offers practical and theoretical training in ophthalmic surgical techniques, focusing on cataract surgery and vitrectomy. This course provides residents with a simulation experience that improves their surgical skills before working with real patients, increasing safety and confidence in the procedures.

The training includes:

  • Surgical theory: Essential knowledge of cataract and vitrectomy surgery, including techniques, necessary materials and management of complications.
  • Practical simulation: Residents participate in workshops with high-fidelity surgical simulators, designed to accurately replicate real situations. This allows the practice of surgical manoeuvres in a safe and controlled environment.

This course is aimed exclusively at ophthalmology residents and addresses the need to develop advanced surgical skills in a progressive and methodical manner. During the three weeks of training, participants also receive personalized feedback from the teachers to optimize their learning.

With OFTALMOSIM you will acquire complete preparation in ophthalmic surgery, improving your ability to successfully manage surgical challenges in your clinical practice.
