The other view of research

This selection of images marks more of ten years of the Vall d’Hebron Campus Science Photography Competition. Every year, staff from this institution present the result of their research from a different perspective, through images of great aesthetic value.

The photographs offer an artistic narrative of what scientists see, experience and research in their daily activities, either through their own eyes or through a microscope.

The ever-questioning gaze of research is reflected in these unique and beautiful images, that transport us to the lab and the human body via imagination.

Today’s research is tomorrow’s health, and explaining it artistically has helped society understand the importance of its scope during the last ten years.

Vall d’Hebron Research

We want the research at Vall d’Hebron to be a driving force for transformation that has an impact on the health and quality of life of patients and society, generating social and economic wealth responsibly and sustainably, and becoming a global reference for new health ecosystems.

In our research, we dedicate all our time to finding cures for diseases that are not available today, discovering better treatments and new therapeutic options through clinical trials, trying to minimise side effects and promoting new innovative formulas in the health sector in order to gain in time and quality of life. Now we need more time in order to continue researching.

Collaborate and #CompraTemps (BuyTime) to continue researching and improving the health of our loved ones.

Vall d’Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus

The Campus is a global benchmark that offers highly complex healthcare and it is where management, care, research, teaching and innovation go hand-in-hand.

We are the sum of five institutions, Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, Vall d’Hebron Research Institute, Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology, the Multiple Sclerosis Centre of Catalonia and the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

All five work side-by-side with the same pioneering spirit and a common goal: improving health and quality of life during all stages of life by generating, sharing and transferring knowledge that allows society and the healthcare system to advance.
