Institutions of which it is part

I am a Geneticist by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and an Evolutionary Biologist by the University of Helsinki. I currently work as Project Manager of the Microbiology Department of Vall d'Hebron managing the research projects as well as exploring new possible collaborations with pharmaceutical companies and startups. Enthusiastic about the world of (bio)sciences, I am passionate about getting involved in projects from initial stages to mature stages, seeing all their development.

Curriculum

My professional career began in 2018 with an internship at the Institut Germans Trias i Pujol (IGTP) where I worked in the Innovation Group in Respiratory Infections and Tuberculosis Diagnosis. In the following years, I worked as a research assistant at Aalto University and the University of Helsinki. I also had the opportunity to work as Project Manager in Aalto University, where I was involved in an iGEM project, an institution that organizes annual synthetic biology competitions. Thanks to this project, I had the opportunity to work at Aalto University in a startup environment, where I was responsible of raising funding and defending our project in front of the public, as well as supervising the in silico research team. In this project, our startup created and optimized a macrolide antibiotic biosensor for wastewater treatment plants using synthetic biology tools. In 2021, I returned to Barcelona and had the opportunity to do an internship at Bayer as a Product Manager Assistant in the area of prostate cancer. Finally, I joined the Vall d'Hebron Microbiology Department at the end of 2022, where I am responsible for managing all collaborations with the industry and looking for new possible collaborations with companies and startups.
