Maternofetal

The Fetal Medicine Unit (UMF) treats the pathology of the fetus itself (malformations, infections, fetal transfusions between twins, etc.) using advanced obstetric ultrasound, neurosonography and echocardiography. One of the most interesting elements is fetal surgery, especially in cases of fetal transfusion between twins, with very good results.

The Advanced Training in Fetal Medicine program is a training activity in the capacity of an observer that offers the specialist to learn the basics of Maternal and Fetal Medicine in a third-level center with highly qualified professionals and the usual procedures in the treatment of pregnant women at risk, as well as the professional's orientation towards research, one of the fundamental aspects of the Obstetrics and Reproductive Endocrinology Service of the Vall d'Hebron Hospital.
