The Prenatal Diagnosis Unit of the Obstetrics and Reproductive Endocrinology Service of the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, in collaboration with the Clinical Genetics Service, carries out all actions aimed at the detection of congenital defects, including prenatal genetic counseling in couples at risk for previous antenatal conditions and the evaluation of biochemical, ultrasound or combined screening.The short-stay Advanced Training program in Prenatal Diagnosis is an activity with an observer profile that provides the specialist with expanded knowledge in the field of Fetal Medicine, assisting in invasive procedures for the detection of congenital defects that are performed in a third-level center (amniocentesis, chorionic biopsy, cordocentesis), with highly qualified professionals.
