The Advanced Clinical Simulation Centre offers a training itinerary aimed at professionals who want to acquire skills to design and conduct learning activities based on clinical simulation.

This program combines theoretical and practical training to understand the pedagogical foundations of simulation, design training scenarios and conduct effective learning processes through prebriefing, briefing, conducting scenarios and debriefing.

The itinerary is structured in different courses that allow progressive advancement in teaching skills in simulation.

Introduction to Simulation Course

This course establishes the theoretical foundations of clinical simulation and introduces the main methodological and pedagogical concepts of this educational tool.

It is designed as a first step for professionals who want to get started in simulation before taking the basic instructor training.

10 hours of online work.

Basic Simulation Instructor Course

This course responds to the growing need for training in clinical simulation and aims to prepare instructors capable of planning, designing and implementing simulation-based training activities.

Participants work on all phases of a simulation experience: from scenario design to conducting the debriefing.

Clinical Simulation Instructor Course: From Face-to-Face to Virtual

The Vall d’Hebron Advanced Clinical Simulation Centre has developed the SIMOONS virtual simulation platform to complement face-to-face training and facilitate universal access to simulation.

This course trains instructors to design and conduct training activities in virtual environments, including programs such as eTEAMS (Training in Teamwork in Multidisciplinary Care through Health Simulation), aimed at residents and nursing professionals.

Duration

3.5 hours of online training.

  • Redesign of clinical simulation from face-to-face to virtual

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Create virtual simulation sessions on the SIMOONS platform.
  • Develop virtual clinical scenarios with the appropriate resources.
  • Apply briefing and debriefing techniques in virtual environments.

Advanced Simulation Instructor Course

This course is aimed at experienced instructors who want to deepen their pedagogical and facilitation skills.

The training addresses key aspects such as learning theories, institutional design of simulation, scenario management and management of complex situations during debriefing.

Duration

21 face-to-face hours distributed over three days.

Certification

Participants who pass the courses receive a certificate accredited by the Catalan Council for Continuing Education of Healthcare Professionals - Commission on Continuing Education of the National Health System and by the Spanish Society of Simulation and Patient Safety.

The face-to-face courses are held at the Vall d'Hebron Advanced Clinical Simulation Centre, located on the 5th floor of the Hospital's Traumatology and Burns building.
