eTEAMS: Teamwork training in multidisciplinary care

eTEAMS offers residents of Vall d'Hebron complete training in non-technical skills throughout their residency, culminating in the Simulation Instructor qualification. Includes virtual training with the serious game SIMOONS.

The eTEAMS program is a comprehensive training for Vall d'Hebron residents focused on training non-technical skills, such as communication, leadership and situational awareness. Throughout the residency, participants follow a progressive simulation itinerary that culminates in the Simulation Instructor competency.

The program is structured into four modules, one for each year of residency, with the involvement of professionals from various specialties and nursing, who guide the residents in this process. Each module focuses on specific aspects of non-technical skills:

  • eTEAMS I: Focused on situational awareness and communication within the team. You will learn the SBAR information transfer methodology and the importance of effective communication.
  • eTEAMS II: Focused on effective communication with the patient and the team, as well as teamwork. You will practice mutual support techniques and the closed communication model.
  • eTEAMS III: You will work on leadership and decision-making in critical situations, training skills to develop effective leadership.
  • eTEAMS IV: You will consolidate non-technical skills and train as an instructor. Includes training in the SIMOONS virtual reality platform, created in Vall d'Hebron, to improve learning in a simulation environment.

The eTEAMS program trains non-technical skills with virtual sessions to help you develop effectively in real clinical settings.
