L’atenció al nen potencialment greu és una part de l’activitat assistencial al servei d’urgències pediàtriques i la seva detecció, diagnòstic i tractament de manera ràpida i eficaç millora el pronòstic dels pacients.
El treball en equip entre tots els participants i el coneixement de l’entorn i el material disponible és necessari per a una correcta atenció inicial del nen greu.
El curs consta d’un primer bloc de contingut teòric on es tracten els continguts de treball en equip, aspectes generals en urgències pediàtriques (contínuum AEPED) i els protocols de les principals patologies d’urgències pediàtriques.
A continuació, en el bloc pràctic es treballen 18 casos clínics que reflecteixen les principals patologies en un servei d’urgències pediàtriques a través de simuladors.
Cada resident de pediatria fa quatre simulacions durant la seva rotació per la unitat d’urgències pediàtriques.
El programa té com a objectius potenciar el treball en equip, promoure la comunicació efectiva, adquirir habilitats en el reconeixement i tractament del nen greu (TEP i metòdica ABCDE), familiaritzar-se amb l’entorn i el material i els recursos científics disponibles i conèixer els algoritmes de les principals patologies ateses a la unitat d’urgències pediàtriques.
