I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist subespecialised in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. I have been part of the Paediatric Ophthalmology Department of the Children Hospital of Vall d'Hebron since April 2006.

Curriculum

I qualified as a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) and Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences (Bsc Hons) from Manchester University, Great Britain in 1996.  I did my specialty training in Ophthalmology at Hospital Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Barcelona via the Medical Resident Internship program between 1999 and 2003. since 2003 I have worked as a Consultant in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus  as part of the Ophthalmology Department at St Rafael Hospital, Barcelona from 2003 to March 2006, after which I incorporated at Vall d´Hebron.
Within the Paediatric department I am involved in the diagnosis and treatment of Paediatric Ophthalmology patients that present at our Hospital including cases of strabismus, anterior and posterior segment pathology, trauma. lacrimal pathology and intraocular tumours. We also diagnose and treat hospitalised patients with ocular complications of systemic disease or prematurity (Retinopathy of Prematurity).
I also am involved in teaching at the faculty of Medicine of  the Universitat Autonòma of Barcelona.
I collaborate as a sub-investigator in various clinical trials in collaboration with other Departments in our hospital.
