VALL D’HEBRON CENTRE FOR ADVANCED CLINICAL SIMULATION 2nd Simulation Week at Vall d'Hebron From April 24 to 28, 2023 the 2nd Simulation Week was held at Vall d'Hebron under the slogan "Simulation everywhere". Different virtual and face-to-face activities take place at the Vall d'Hebron Advanced Clinical Simulation Center, located on the 5th floor of the Traumatology, Rehabilitation, and Burns Hospital. 2nd Simulation Week at Vall d'Hebron program Share it Presentation by Dr. José María Quintillá Dr. José María Quintillá, pediatrician expert in Clinical Simulation and Pediatric Emergencies at Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, leads the plenary session of the Workshop The challenges of simulation in Catalonia. Dr. Quintillá raises four challenges for those attending the Worshop to work on in groups: Access to the simulation Construction of simulation teams Integration in the curriculum Impact measurement Share it SIMOONS League The SIMOONS League is a virtual competition that takes place during the 2nd Simulation Week. Teams from different countries participate through the serious game SIMOONS. Share it What is SIMOONS? SIMOONS (Serious game for online training with health simulation) is a platform that allows remote training of multidisciplinary teams for patient care in various clinical scenarios. Who participates? 10 centers from different countries participate. How does the competition develop? The 10 teams are divided into two groups that compete during the week of April 24, with the winners of each group reaching the final on Friday, April 28. That is, the first finalist comes out of Group A and the second finalist comes out of Group B. What is the goal of the team simulation sessions? The objective of the team simulation sessions is to work on non-technical skills, such as communication, leadership, teamwork, situational awareness and decision-making through the SIMOONS serious game. What is the format of the team simulation sessions? The format of the team simulation sessions is completely online. How the performance of the teams be evaluated during the simulations? The performance of the teams during the simulations is evaluated through a rubric carried out by a facilitator from the Simulation Center, who is an external observer of the sessions. The TEAMS scale is used to rate non-technical skills during the simulations. Are there extra points for the teams? Yes, there are extra points for the most original video, the video with the most "likes" on Twitter and also extra points for each participant who does the SIMOONS pilot test. What is the prize for the winning team? The winning team receive a 1-month license for 1 SIMOONS module and free enrollment in the SIMOONS Trainer online course for all team members. 1st Simulation Week Retrieve the roundtables and symposia from the 1st Simulation Week held in 2022. VALL D'HEBRON CENTRE FOR ADVANCED CLINICAL SIMULATION Simulation as a fundamental training tool We provide training so that simulation becomes a fundamental teaching methodology for learning with results and impact on health.
